The final regular season meet for Laketown team proves much success!
6 year old Addison Smith was the top finisher among our younger Xcel Bronze girls who competed over the weekend at the National Sports Center in Blaine, scoring a 34.75 in the All Around! Not far behind was Kenadee Crable with a score of 34.0. Placing 13th and 16th respectively are Paige Seelig and Ava Rundell. Moving over to the 8 year old age division, we have Peyton Hillesheim, Leia Deboer, and Sophia Gutowsky. Each scoring high 8's and 9's on most events.
Congratulations to Laehla Hunt in being the top All Around score among the Laketown Silver team with a 35.7! The rest of the silver team scored well, consistently scoring low to mid 8's on most events. Eve Busse, Ella Dahlo, Kathryn Hoover, and Olivia Lenz each had their own personal best All Around score of the season. Congratulations to them as well!
Our group of Gold team girls scored a solid 105.05 team score, placing them in 7th place. Each girl did well scoring 32.95 or above in All Around scores.
On our Platinum group, Ariana Shields met the state qualifying score in the All Around and will be joining her teammates at the state meet in a few weeks! Congratulations to her! As a group, their team score has increased by over 6 points since the beginning of the season in December. The improvement in the bars scores alone has been impressive alone! Keep up the good work girls!
There is a group of 5 Level 7 girls who competed Saturday morning. This is only the 2nd time this group has competed together as a team and overall, they scored fairly well. This is a group of girls that, in the future, with some more training time will be a very fun and competitive team to watch. Their growth as gymnasts over the past year has been incredible to see!
Our Laketown Level 8 team reached the top of the podium at their competition, Rising Stars Invitational. The improvement in this group of girls over this past year has been so much fun to see. Ellie Radke made the state qualifying score and will get the opportunity to compete at the Level 8 state meet with her team also!
Level 9 gymnast Gabrielle Johnson, one of the original Laketown team members, competed her final regular season meet with Laketown. She is a graduating senior and will be missed greatly as she moves on to competing with Winona State. We look forward to cheering her on at the state meet as well as in her future as a Winona Warrior!
6th Annual Sail Into Spring a Success!
Laketown hosted our 6th annual Sail Into Spring Invitational in February. If the comments and reviews from the other gyms, coaches, and judges is any indication, it was a huge success! The meet ran smoothly and ahead of schedule, the volunteers were amazing, and the kids had a great time! We had just over 230 kids competing throughout the day in 5 sessions. We’d like to thank all of our volunteers who helped make this event run smoothly. We could not make this event as successful as it is without each and every one of you. From the food donations, the decorating, to helping at the event itself, it could not be done without you! Thank you also to Scott Bolster for his time put in and the great photos!

Top 3 Team Placement for Bronze!
Our 4 Xcel competition teams traveled to the Colin Powell Center over the weekend and had some great scores! The Bronze team, comprised of girls between the ages of 6 - 8 years old, placed 3rd as a team! Peyton Hillesheim took home 1st place in the All Around with a 37.4! Leia DeBoer scored 9.3 on both the bars and beam, and Sophia Gutowsky qualified for the state competition with a 35.1 All Around score! The younger Bronze girls had a great time as well with Kenadee Crable placed 2nd in the All Around with a 35.9! Paige Seelig scored 9.0 and 9.35 on bars and beam, and Ava Rundell had a great 33.65 All Around score!
In the Silver level, scores were tough, but the girls still had top 10 placements and several scored high 8's and low 9's. As a team, the girls placed 6th. This group of gymnasts work so hard at each practice and are such a good team of girls, and it's fun to see them grow together as a team!
The Gold group of girls had a good day! Alivia Dawson scored a solid 9.45 on beam and tied for 6th place. Gabby Horsch was also in the 9's on beam with a 9.2 and grabbed 10th place. Our Platinum team placed 5th overall. Eleanor Wackerfuss took home with gold in the All Around with a 36.5 and Maya Bolster was not far behind with a 36.1, tying her for 5th. Maya also took 2nd place on beam with a score of 9.2. Alaina Gerding was 8th place All Around and had consistent high 8's on all 4 events. Ariana Shields had a slight injury, so did not compete the full competition, but she did place 9th on floor with a score of 8.9.
Level 8 team places 2nd!
Our Level 8's competed at the Twisted Moose competition held at the Colin Powell Center on Feb. 24th. They had a great showing that resulted in their highest team score ever! We also had some individual placing with Kate Feddema placing 2nd in the All Around in her age group along with Brynna Foss and Ellie Radke taking 4th and 8th places in the All Around. Maddie Gamber took home 9th All Around in her age division as well as 4th place on beam.
